Hi HappyClam!
Yes, Char~Bull Trout and Dolly Varden are chars. Pitt is famous for its abnormally large Bull Trout!
I didn't take many photos that day as most of the stuff was shot on videocam. I'll have to check my album and see if i can scan some old photos.
You'll enjoy the jet boat trip from Grant Narrows, it's quite an interesting ride.
If you have the website for the Pitt River Lodge, they even have a live viewcam that loads every minute and gives you a view of the river from the lodge. Sometimes you may even catch a glimpse of anglers going out or pulling in from their days fishing.
Another trip i highly recommend if you have the time is a drift boat trip on the Cowichan River in Nanaimo. This is my favorite river for steelhead in March and the catch is consistent if you can book a trip with guide Kenzie Cuthbert. A drift boat trip in BC is one of those things you gotta experience in your lifetime. The added bonus on the Cowichan is brown trout on a west coast river, which are not that easy to catch frankly speaking, but grow to quite a large average size over there. There's a stretch that is strictly for flyfishing, and another stretch after Skutz Falls where you can elect to fish with a drift rod.
