I think there is no such rule for choosing color of lures.
As the scientists tell us, the light can be divided into at least seven colors (actually the different frequency of wavelength). When going deeper, the water will absorb or reflect these wavelength one by one, and at the end there is no color can be seen at all. Beside the depth, the water temperature and density, also affect the light reflection. The clearness of the water, the weather, sun's angle... these all will affect the lure's color that seen by the fish. But the crucial thing that drive the fish to take the lures, is the natural instinct. That's why same fish specie can have different feeding patent in different location, and different specie have similar preference. So as the Rapala DVD said, try all color (on hand) and presentation to find the right one. |
