Hi Buddies,
I wanna share my first & green fly experience with you. It was THE FIRST FLY TRIP
yesterday in my life. I went to Hok Tau reservoir to get my line wet and practice the presentation.
Thousand of pages about presentation and fly fishing info have been read. A step should
be started. At the beginning of my presentation is totally lousy and the fly just drop 5 feets in front
of me. Quite frustrated! I was attempting to overcome it. Finally read the print out again,
find out what is the problem. The problem would be the back cast. Every presentation I made,
several loops occur in the line. It reduces the forward force and the energy from the rod seems
dissipated. Changed the timing of rod swinging to make the line almost straight in the back cast.
What a miracle that the line can be presented a bit longer. Another 30 minutes non stop casting,
I learned a little more the trick of presentation. It really drives me crazy. I love fly fishing very much
once it's started. My forearm is exhausted today. Anyway, I'll pratice tomorrow again.
By the way, does the fishing shop in Sheung Wan offer tipped leader? I lost two Adams flies and the
leader yesterday.
Tight lines!
