Hi Snooker,
In reply to your questions placed in "CHIT-Chatting " section of the forum, my answers are as follows:
I have 4 sets of Fly Rods & Reels
1 set 2 wt and 1 set 4 wt Rod & Reel both with Floating and Intermediate fly lines.........at the time, they were and still are used for trout fishing in small streams, rivers and dams when travelling abroad. Both sets are good in Hong Kong when targeting fresh water species in streams, small ponds and reservoirs.
A 6 wt fly rod also with matching floating and intermediate lines is being used to target both fresh and salt water species like Tarpons, Sea-bass etc. and am looking forward to take in some Mullets locally in the near future.
I pc. 9 wt rod with Intermediate line and 200 meters of backing is basically used for boat-fishing at sea targeting larger species. I had caught tuna, sea-bass, Mullet Barracuda etc with it in Thailand and Africa. I had also caught a tiger-fish (a fresh water game fish in Africa) in the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe. Yellow fish were caught in rivers in Southern Africa. It is best to use this set on boats outings. Flies used for the salt water species and the tiger fish mentioned here are much larger and heavier with hook size like #4 & #6 and at times wired traces needed to be used.
Hopefully the above answered your questions.
