Half and half, Why do I want to said that, normal rod don't means can't do the job for you but it would not very reliable, When you use it for some of time, That rod would not be straight and same power then before. It also can be damage inside the material you can't see, when it happen the rod will loss the power for casting, and don't matter how much weight you add to it and even the size of the line.
line/ braid size are important, but it does not matter big size or small.
Lead weight is the same and don't just think to put move weight will go farther.
Yourself - Are you strong enough to casting the heavy light e.g. 8 ozs ???
The important thing is the rod you use.
Your casting skill,
then the size of the line+ lead.
Size of the rings are important e.g. 50mm to 16mm
Reel size is one important part - small to middle 3000-5000 for light to mid power rod, 5500-12000 surf fishing reel for strong heavy rod.
Some light tele surf fishing rod only can handle about ( 80-200g) casting weight
Strong 2 piece surf fishing rod can be go farther to (200-250g).
But They are so many new reel + rod technique we need to updated.
after you understand all about+ skill that is = distance ( 200 meter +) |
