Every time I caught a record size fish and kept it on my stringer I always worried that the stringer will give away, maybe due to broken swivels or the rope being scratched against oyster shells.
Today I have found the materials I need to make a stringer set which I can trust on:
Kazax stringers
Kazax stringer rope (10m long, 2.3mm diameter)
Yozuri swivels #2 (rated for 81kg)
Yozuri lure snap lock (forgot the size but is pretty tough)
Beads
strap (from 10 dollars shops, 10 dollars for 3)
generic fishing line holder
Total cost: about $200
* I've replaced the original swivels and snap lock with the ones made by Yozuri. You can always use something even stronger and more durable. I think the key is to found something that will hold up against corrosion due to salt water usage.
By the way, should I add some kind of plastic tube between the beads? I've found tubes add so much to the total size of the set.
