Tarpons today & line report

Wake up 5:30 & can't sleep. The best activity must be fishing.
Arrival smelly river at 6:30, level still quite low until 7:30 the tide
in. Saw many tarpons around. First strike by a epoxy minnow #6
and landed. Baby trapon only 5-6"! Thousand of strikes but didn't
set hook. Changed a newly purchase #6 popper. Got one BB size.
Tide in & in, got a strike and a running drag. Wow 50 size, lost when
the fish jumping. Shit! Result 2 baby tarpons.

Also tested the RIO Bonefish flyline WF6-F, it's perfectly for smelly river!
Short head as easy as a shooting head casting. With my med-fast action
rod smoothly in 20m. Once match with a fast rod, 25m can be easily reached.
Even roll cast is smooth too. With such heavy epoxy minnow & 10' leader,
roll in 10m without any problem.

By the way, you may consider the Bonefish
line once a replacement needed. It's really good
especially in hot summer.

The spoon flies are for #9 rod. The Orvis #9 rod still
in the States didn't ship yet.

Did you see the catfish? Not much in down stream.
