The Journey fly rod series was designed specifically for youth anglers.
When developing this series, Ross spent considerable time working with
children to determine what rod features would help them enjoy a day on the
water with their family. After more than two years of research development,
Ross arrived at a design that they believe is the perfect youth fly rod!
The cork handle is crafted to perfectly fit a child's hand and allow for comfortable
casting without fatigue. Ross arrived at a 4wt. design so the rod can be used on
most any type of water, but the length is only 7'6" so it is easy to control.
This 4-piece rod series provides a great opportunity for families to introduce their
children to the sport of fly fishing with the "right" equipment, without breaking the bank.
The Journey series' proprietary R-1 graphite design is a medium-fast action taper that
is perfect for any casting style, and forgiving for those anglers just starting out. These
are smooth casting rods that are sensitive, precise and effortless to cast, making it
easier for beginning anglers to learn the sport of fly fishing.
